Partnership working and the integration of health and social care services is essential if we are to meet the needs of the growing population of frail older people who deserve and expect high quality services.
I have been operating as a consultant in the health and social care world for over 10 years. The main focus of my work is the development of integrated health and social care services particularly those for frail older people at risk of admission to hospital or residential/nursing home care.
I have a MSc from the LSE in Social Policy and Planning augmented by a DMS and NVQ 5 in managment.
Having operated as a Senior Manager in Adult Social Services I am aware of the realities of managing at a time of unprecendented cutbacks in resources and the need to maximise the limited resources remaining to provide quality provision for the most vulnerable. My early career in health has given means I am comfortable working with clinicians and understand the issues with which they are grappling. This has been of benefit when working on the health/social care interface and integration agenda.
While working as Service Development Advisor (Older People) with the Health and Social Care Advisory Service I led national projects as well as working with individual Trusts and Local Authorities to review, develop strategies and business cases to better commissioning and manage services.
Feedback would suggest I am an innovative manager able to motivate staff to deliver of their best. Several of the schemes I have been involved with have been recognised nationally as representing best practice. References are available as required.
While operating predominately in the public sector I do have personal experience of establishing and managing three small family businesses.
Feel free to contact me without obligation if you would like to discuss using my services. Rates are subject to negotiation.
